Nora Jane Struthers and Joe Overton BIO
Nora Jane Struthers and Joe Overton are a husband and wife duo, who have spent the last decade writing and performing together all over the world. Rooted in bluegrass and old-time Appalahian folk, the duo create laser-tight harmonies and spend most of their time performing Struthers’ original songs with their five-piece roots rock band. NPRmusic says, “Nora Jane Struthers is guided by fire. Struthers has [come] up with some of the most quietly powerful narratives within the new wave of Americana artists.” Her most recent album, “Bright Lights, Long Drives, First Words,” which has been featured by Rolling Stone and American Songwriter magazine, explores the challenges of balancing life as a touring musician and new mother.
When they perform together, Nora Jane sticks to the acoustic guitar, while Joe Overton glides between banjo, fiddle, and pedal steel guitar both rooting the songs in tradition and creating a unique sonic landscape.
